Bob's Closs

Bob's Closs Meadow is a species-rich wet grassland and a designated wildlife site behind the Charles Booth Centre. Part of the community centre grounds, it was bought by Charles Booth in the early 20th century for local recreation. Grasslands like this are rapidly declining in Leicestershire.

Managed with guidance from the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, volunteers help maintain the site and improve access. This will allow school groups and nature enthusiasts to study the habitat up close.

A public footpath runs through the meadow, so it’s always open. You can enter from Drury Lane off Thringstone Green.

Allotments

The Charles Booth Centre has 14 allotment plots which are all taken at present.

We run a waiting list for plots. If you would like to be put on the list, please contact us.
